Garmin Connect Historical Data Gone After New Watch Upgrade, Help!

Hi

I just upgraded from a Vivoactive 3 to a Venu 2s on Saturday morning (3/26), and somehow, someway all of my data from the past year or two is completely gone.  I didn't create a new account at all, I used my existing account but when I set it up and added the watch, Connect seemed to think was a new account.  Everything in connect was blank and I had to set up the entire dashboard again.

To clarify, I didn't have my phone with me.  I was excited to get it so I booted up the 2s, and then connected it to my computer via garmin express to just download all the software updates.  Later in the day I then linked it to my phone and the garmin connect mobile app.

How can I get my historical data back?  Please help!

  • How can I get my historical data back?

First of all, remove the device from the new empty Garmin Connect account (important, do not skip that step!), then sign out from Garmin Connect. Then sign in back again with the credentials for the old account, and then connect the new device.

Do the same with Garmin Express! Use the button Change Account in Tools & Content

  • In fact, if you did not use Garmin Connect yet, with the new device, doing it in Garmin Express should be sufficient.

  • Thanks I found the issue.  I changed my email address to another one right before setting up the watch.... ugh!  User error.

  • Hello .  While looking into this issue for you, I see that you have each of your watches registered to two different Garmin Connect accounts.  It does look like when you registered your Venu 2s, that you did in fact create a completely new account.  For further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us directly at 1-800-800-1020.
