New personal record doesn't show up after activity was trimmed

I just did my longest run yet and also got a new best 10k time out of it. While the accept personal record message showed up immediately after the activity synced, it disappeared after i trimmed the activity by one second. Is this supposed to happen? It's infuriating and I would like to be able to see the new record. Is there a way to manually sync the activity onto the app again and not trim it this time around?

  • Well yes, they set it like that - you can click on the question-mark on that page for description:

    Receiving a Record

    Each time that you upload data from your Garmin device or create an activity that surpasses one of your previous personal records, that achievement will be noted here. Strength activities can be edited in Garmin Connect to add weight records, but other activity types cannot be edited to make them personal records.

    But you can delete a record and enter new manually, when it's empty - press on the place where digits should be.

  • You can also set the record manually from the screen of the concerned activity:
