7-Day Training Load is no longer calculated automatically

Hello Garmin,

The branch which is currently used for Garmin Express 7.11.1.0 still has the very annoying P1 bug that the 7-Day Training Load is not calculated on the daily basis as long as you do not synchronise the Edge1030Plus via the USB-cable. It seems that again the wrong URL's are put in.

This happened many times before when a GE version x.x.1.0 was set live. At first at the x.x.0.0 GE opens twice, then when that's removed (x.x.1.0.), you can only get the 7-Day Training Load calculated by connecting the Garmin Device via the USB-cable to the PC/laptop on which you have GE installed.

This P1 bug occurred in

  • 7.5.0.0 (May 2021),
  • 7.7.1.0 (July 2021),
  • 7.10.0.0  (January 2022) and now
  • 7.11.0.0 (February/March 2022) and
  • 7.11.1.0

Garmin can  you please fix this major bug for once and for all

Added @ 16-May:

The 7-Day Training Load is not updated AGAIN!!

After another SW version change by Garmin the MAJOR BUG has returned for the 6th or 7th Time!

See the new screen shots hereunder:

It is clear that the exercise of Sunday May 15th is NOT taken into account. The 7-Day Training Load should be 691 where it is now only 331.

This AGAIN with a SW version x.xx.1.0 , 7.12.1.0 to be precise!

  • Hello Garmin,

AGAIN for the 3rd time in 3 Months the 7-Day Training Load, the Training Focus and the green bar are not calculated AT ALL.

    See the screen shots hereunder

This is already going on for more than a week. At first GE started to open double, when that crap version (which should have been destroyed/deleted from your SW library ages ago) was replaced by single opening again the issue remained

It doesn't make any difference if the exercise is uploaded via a public/common IP-Port and/or later on via my own WiFi-link, it does not work at all.

Even worse: if it's at first only uploaded via a common IP-address/Port, the exercise is only shown in the Exercise Load graph but not on any external app like Strava.

Even making a small change to the file and save it again does not do the job.

The only way the calculations are done, is when the device is connected via a USB-cable with the laptop on which I run Garmin Express.

So check ALL the links/URLs/APIs which should be present to connect the different databases so the data can be displayed in Connect Web!

This is a textbook example of a MAJOR BUG (P2). FIX IT A.S.A.P. and forgood.

It's absolutely totally unacceptable that the same MAJOR BUG returns about every month or even more often

  • I see in your first post in this thread that you got an Edge. You must sync it for the values to update. The values will not update unless you do that since the calculations are done on the device.

Have you synced the Edge today?

  • e7andy,

I have synced EVERY SINGLE day and if you would have looked and read carefully you could have seen that it's synced every single day because I have written that the external apps were only displaying an exercise as soon as I let my device link to my own WiFi-link which IS syncing.  The Garmin SW has the SAME MAJOR BUG of missing URLs/links intheir different DBs again as was also the case the 3 previous months

  • I don't know how many devices you have. Many people that use Edge devices also got a watch for daily tracking and running and other sports.

The exercise load graph will show values from all your devices without the need to sync them. The 7-day training load graph must have a new sync to update.

  • I have synced EVERY SINGLE day and if you would have looked and read carefully you could have seen that it's synced every single day because I have written that the external apps were only displaying an exercise as soon as I let my device link to my own WiFi-link which IS syncing.

From the description of the issue, I'd tell that there may be a problem in the association of your device to the Garmin Connect account, and that the data is being synced to a wrong account. Try following the instructions in the hint #4 of the Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing, it could help fixing the issue.

Edit: Additionally, if you use a direct WiFi link to the GC account on the Edge device, re-do it too.
