Garmin connect not adding cycle ride to stats

I use a Fenix 6 for non cycling activities and and Edge 830 for cycling.

Until recently everything has worked fine but yesterday I did a 40 mile ride and although the ride and all the stats show in Garmin connect non of the details of the ride contribute to my daily stats such as activity minutes or heart rate stats.

What has gone wrong and how do I fix?

  • Yes, my health stats zeroed out since March 2

  • I have the same issue since like 5 or 6 days now. I only ever use the Garmin E1030+ for cycling and indoor (cycling) training only and of course never changed any setting whatsoever

I am quite sure it's a major bug in the Garmin Connect and Express SW and underlying back end data bases. Since G Express 7.11.1.0 is live (where it said in the release notes changes were made to the URLs [for data transfer from the Express DBs to Garmin Connect (cloud) account]) these problems popped up again. 'Again' because this has happened many times before in the last 2.5 year.

The SW branch which Garmin has used to build the GE 7.11.1.0 is the one containing the major bug of breaking the automatic calculation of the 7-Day training load from the exercise data coming from your Garmin device.

So what has gone wrong is that Garmin, as usual, did not test a new SW release properly and causes us users trouble.

I recommend that if you really want to do proper training analysis you get yourself a paid subscription to Training Peaks. Then you're also independent of the device you use because TP can handle many different data formats and it's also possible to define your heart rate and power zones per sport for many different sports (which is really makes sense for e.g. triathletes)

Garmin has shown to be very unreliable for training analysis. I have many examples of ever changing training history stats due to Garmin changing SW-releases where none of the releases was ever free of major bugs. Even up to the extend that there was a huge difference between the 6 Months and 1 Year training load values in the same week, leaving out exercise load values randomly etc .

I assume you have checked if PhysioTrueup is still on on both devices. If yes and it still doesn't work there is nothing you can do but wait until Garmin finally fixes this major bug
