Benchmark run not recognized by garmin coach

Hello,

the benchmark run appears in the activities, but not in the Garmin coach plan.

Troubleshooting:

change description of the activity and saved

suspended coach plan, resynced and restarted plan

deleted activity, reuploaded manually

exit from plan, resync, rescheduled the plan

No results whatsoever.

What should I do???

I see a lot of people with the same issue, since years ago.

Please, advice.

  • This is incredibly frustrating. Other training apps (such as RunKeeper) allow you to at least manually input data to complete a workout if for some reason you weren't able to track it in real time. There should be a way to 'get credit' for the benchmark run I already completed as part of my training program. Quit and start over is really the only solution? Unacceptable for such an expensive device. 

  • I have the same problem on my Forerunner 945. Is it so difficult to solve the problem fo Garmin? No one wants to re-run the benchmark run! For some people this first run can be the most important one to start running, and then after all, they get to know that is not taken into account. Very discouraging.

  • I am having this same issue. Have there been any new resolutions? I do not want to re run my benchmark run that I have already completed, but cannot continue with the rest of my training plan until it has been correctly recorded as complete. Very frustrating!

  • I think I figured it out. I don't know if it’s the same issue for all the watches, but for my instinct 2x  it seems to have done the trick. The activity was still recording even after the workout ended. So I  had a benchmark run of like 45 minutes. 

    The solution was to press the menu button or whatever button brings up the options for the e activity for your watch. Select save and once it is saved sync with the app. It should work.

  • I am "happy" to announce, that after so much time, Garmin still hasnt decided to solve this BUG and it still present on 11/2023

  • I had The Same problem. I did two times The benchmark Run and it is still not recognized by The coach.

    I am in The middle of a 17 weeks program from coach Amy for 10k run. It is ver frustrating to Just loose my first 8 weeks trainings.

    But as I have seen from other comments this is already an Old problem and has no solution from Garmin
