I took the 5km challenge of the 21st-23rd of January and I recorded the activity on the 23rd afternoon but I was not awarded the badge.
Can you tell me why ? Is there a problem ?

Worked for me. So you can check standard things for badges like: a type of an activity (run) etc., there is thread above with things which could work. But after end of a challenge you rather can't fix it yourself, during challenge you can edit an activity and this would usually give a badge.
This challenge has ended so there is nothing you can do now to fix it. There are some things you can test but it has to be done during the challenge period.
Could you post a link to the activity you did so we can have a look and hopefully see what might have gone wrong?

Which device did you use?
Did you join the challenge? You must actively join each challenge to be able to get the badge. You can double check by looking at the past challenges here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/challenge
It should be visible as a past challenge if you joined it.
Did you upload the activity to Garmin Connect before 12:00 on the 24th?
Have you got the badges for other challenges in the past?
I indeed joined the challenge as it appears in the past challenges.
My watch is Bluetooth connected so each of my activity is uploaded just after the end of my activity.
this month there is a badge for a 4 hour strength training activity. What is strange is that when I try to enter a « fake » strength training activity (just to test the application) nothing changes as if I did not do any activity…
Manually created activities do not count for challenges. They must be logged with a Garmin device.
Ok I understand for the fake strength training activity but my running activity was for real and logged with my Garmin Fenix 6
Next time you should try to fix it during the time period for the challenge. Now you can't do anything. The only way now is to contact Garmin Support: https://support.garmin.com
