Course Point Types

In the Garmin Connect iOS app, when I add a course point to a course I have a large range of course point types available:

In Garmin Connect Web, it looks differently:

Only a small number of types is availabe. When editing a course created by the iOS app with the new types, the Web app fails to properly edit those.

According to DC rainmaker's Fenix 7 review (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2022/01/garmin-fenix7-7s-7x-in-depth-review.html), the Web version should also be able to handle those types:

Is this happening to others too, or is this somehow account specific?

Btw, I have a Fenix 7X connected to my account.

    I was also very surprised when I saw the video of DC Rainmaker.
    No I don't have this big choice in GC-Web (Windows) either.

    If you create a cycling course you will get a few more options but not all those.

    DC Rainmaker is doing a hiking route so try that. Hiking for me only gives me the 7 general types of points.

    If I add one of those points that I don't see in the web version to a course in the app and then tries to edit that point in the web version the interface will not handle it. To be able to continue to edit the course I need to click "Add course point" and cancel. After that I'm back to normal edit mode.

    Hinking also only gives me the basic types.

    It seems Garmin has some work left to do here. Hope that won't take too long, as route editing is so much quicker on the web than on a mobile phone.

    Same issue here. I only see the 7 point types under General. Would love to add overlook and water waypoints.

    Same here.  I was also very surprised to see the extensive list of point types in DC Rainmaker's video.  I always do my route planning on my computer since it's much faster/easier on a large screen w/ keyboard & mouse.  I somehow thought that when I got my new Epix and connected it to Garmin Connect, the list of supported course point types would update, but it didn't change anything.  I still see that small list of 7 generic point types vs. the many more you can see in the mobile app.  I hope that they update the desktop app soon so that we can take advantage of all these other options!

    I called and spoke with a Garmin Support Rep yesterday about this.  He said that this (and some other changes) are expected to be released as part of a GC update in the next 1-2 weeks.  At that time, we should then see the list of course points updated in the web app and match what we're seeing on mobile.

    Yeah!
    Obviously, there has been an update at GARMIN Connect (Web) recently. There are now many more new waypoint types added.
    Have a look at it.
