Big problem with syncing activity/corrupted file

Hello,

I went for a run this morning and my activity wouldn't sync to garmin connect. I looked on this forum and followed suggestions to upload it manually to desktop (didnt work, 'we don't support this file type'). I have then tried using various 'fit file' fixers recommended on here, one of which managed to get the activity onto Strava, but said i had ran over 30,000 kilometers from Sheffield UK to the middle of the ocean on the other side of the world! The first 5k are recorded correctly and then it goes (very) off course. After lots of comments on my strava post from across the world saying 'this is fake' 'cheating' 'delete this' etc etc as of they thought people might think it was real if they didnt point out it wasn't, I still haven't been able to resolve this issue. Any ideas? As far as i can see it is recorded correctly on the watch, so the problem is with the transfer somewhere.

Have you tried Fit File Repair Tool? You can use it to remove bad data points that jump across the world like that.

As Kyle J mentioned, Fit File Repair Tool will fix it. If you have any trouble or do not have a Windows computer, feel free to post your fit file here and we can try to assist.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Hi, i did try using the tool but i couldnt get it to work, as rather than just going off course and then returning, it has the first 5k and then goes across the world and doesnt return to the actual course, so i only managed to save the first 5k. I did 10k in total, starting and ending at the same point. I'll upload it anyway - i'm not great with these things - it would be amazing if you could have a look.

Sync your watch then do a full master reset of your FR35 using these directions - Restoring All Default Settings
Add a weekly cleanup procedure of the ACTIVITY folder to your agenda using these directions - Removing Recorded Activities to Free Up Space
Please report back here when you encounter corrupted files again
