Badge "It's Time To Let Go"

There are three badges that revolve around the gear (well three that I am aware of).

First Gear
Goodbye Old Friend
It's Time To Let Go

I am able to collect the badges for items 1 and 2 above as there is the GEAR section there is a selection for RETIRE and ADDing Gear.. So how does one collect the badge for "It's Time to Let Go, 2 pts, Use a piece of gear past its end of life.". I cannot seem to find a selection in any pull down to select a piece of gear as "End of Life"

Add a mileage max (i.e. 300 mi for shoes), then use the shoes for more than 300 miles. Just got that badge myself (on shoes that got retired 2 years ago since that was my default!).

thanks that was the ticket... so the badge looks for the miles one sets and then "Ends of Life" automatically the piece of gear when the miles are reached.. there is no effort needed on the user end to select "End of Life" for the piece of gear. (So you have to EDIT the piece of gear to enter the " MAX MILES" for the end life for the miles and then associate that item to the activities so the badge can tally up the miles and know when to award the badge. the piece of gear will be remove from the retired status to accomplish as the RETIRED status does not allow one to edit the gear)
