Garmin Connect does not apply Sufferfest FIT file to badge totals.

I have noticed that when import a Sufferfest FIT file to Garmin Connect the data is not applied to the badges.  For example.  There is a cycling challenge titled "2022 Cycling - Stage 1". When I upload a Sufferfest FIT file the miles from this file are not applied to the challenge. However, when I upload the FIT file from the Edge 1030+ the miles are applied to this challenge.  Why does this occur? and or how does one apply the miles from a Sufferfest FIT file to Garmin Connect Badges?

  • Only activities logged with a Garmin device counts for badges.

You can edit the FIT file and add a Garmin device but it will require some extra work. It is easier to just log it with your Edge.

  • this is very unfortunate. I as I had read later and and pointed out by others this is a poor example of customer support/integration.  I do not have those events on a Garmin device.  I cannot see how this breaks Garmin's back to be able to absorb FIT files from other sources and apply them to Garmin Badges.  This is akin to Using Apple's Pages to create a document and Microsoft Word not allowing the document to be opened since it was not created by Microsoft.  It makes absolutely no logical sense.  I have no clue if you are a Garmin rep or not, but hopefully you can influence some common sense to come through for this.  Thanks for your time and effort.
