Importing a FIT file from a walk with steps, but Garmin Connect not showing the steps of this activity.

Hi,

I have a FIT file from a walk, which is including steps.

If I'm importing the FIT file to Garmin Connect, I can see the activity with hart rate, pace, speed, distance, ... but there are not steps in Garmin Connect from this activity.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Steps are recorded independently from the activity. Using your watch's accelerometer. There are Connect IQ data fields you can use such as STEPS to fit. It will save the number of steps to the fit file. But that's not going to change the total recorded by the accelerometer.

    Thanks for the tip, but it will not help for my issue.

    The FIT file of the activity is from an other watch. The file includes the steps, but it looks like the Garmin Connect does not import the steps includes in this activity from the other device. :-(

    Any idea how to overcome this issue?

    I normal use a Fenix 6 watch in my Garmin account.

    But on some days I only use my Apple Watch. So I exported the activity from Apple Health with RunGap as a FIT-File.

    How can I add the Apple Watch as a dummy device to get the steps from the FIT-File into my Garmin Connect account?

    Sorry, but I'm not talking about direct sync from Apple Health to Garmin Connect.

    It's about importing a walking activity which is stored in a FIT-File to Garmin Connect and not getting the steps recorded in the FIT-File into Garmin Connect.

    Your Garmin Connect account will only collate steps that are recorded on a Garmin device connected to your account.

    It is not possible to manually add steps to your Garmin Connect account. This includes importing activity files recorded on other devices (including Garmin devices associated with a different account).
