I drew an arrow on the symbol on the left of the design, the meaning of which I do not know. Is that the symbol for calories?

It that one of the default watchfaces from Garmin? If not, then it is probably easier to get help from the developer of the watchface.
If you put a link to the watchface from Connect IQ it is easier to find the information about that particular watchface.

The symbol looks like a fire so it is probably calorie burn.
