Adding a Course point

Hello

I have a GPX file with a course I want to ride.

I want to add some Course Points that will help me through the navegation, for what I do the following:

1) Import the GPX file into Garmin Connect.

2) Start Edit mode.

3) I select the Add Course Point option.

4) I try to click on the course the point where I want the Course Point to be.

The problems I have are:

A) It is very difficult to select the exact point where I need the course point. For example, I know the position of a Food Stop, 12.73 Km from start, So is there a way I can create the course point by distance from the beginning and not by clicking on the course ?

B) The course uses the same road to go and come back. When I click trying to select a point that is on the outbound part of the course (before I turn around and come back the same road), I get the return course point which is not want I want. I tried maximizing the map so I can see both trails (Outbound and inbound) but it still shows as a unique line on the screen and I have been unable to select the correct point, Is there a way to select the course point that is not on the foreground of the screen view ?

C) I also would like to add course points at summits and valleys (at the inflection points). Is there a way to select the lowest or highest points within a course segment ?

Thanks in advance for any help !

  • I would second many of these issues. The precision part, specifically.

I'd also add that I want to add a single point that has Toilet, Water, Sports Drink, and Gel. I'm currently unable to overlap any of them. I have to stagger them, which is incorrect. This means using things like Up Ahead or other won't be correct.

    Precision is important here.
