How do I schedule a workout to multiple days on the training calendar rather than one by one?

I have downloaded some HIIT workouts and pushed them to my Garmin device too. Now when I try to schedule them, I can only do one at a time. Creating workouts on Garmin Connect using Office 365 doesn't seem to actually affect Garmin.

So is it possible to schedule workouts at regular intervals (e.g. say I want to schedule a workout every Monday) rather than click on them every single time?

Thanks

  • Were you ever able to figure this out?

  • Recurring scheduling is not available, but you can open the Calendar in Garmin Connect Web, click any day, select Workout, and then drag & drop your workout to as many days as you need

  • Its a joke that such a basic function isn't Available,
i started making my routines in trainingpeaks and linking it to Garmin so i could have this feature but its silly you have to use 3rd party software to do it.

  • Is the suggested solution of dragging the workout on multiple days in the Calendar not working for you?

  • Its very time consuming,

ill give my scenario to clarify but sorry for the wall of text.
I have 17 Different Workouts a week. My Routines are made and adjusted every 3 months, when working full time its hard to fit this much in so its nice to look at the calendar when i wakeup and then goto the gym, park or pool, click the workout and follow the prompts to stay on the routine.

adding them manually is far from a smooth experience as each one you drag glitches the site before you can add the next, the best option i have found so far is the chrome app "Garmin Connect Workout Scheduler" as someone made it to address this issue but its still buggy at times when the garmin sites settings aren't all default.

many of the guys i know that compete do there planning in google calendar and use a irl notebook for the routines as they gave up on this method, but its a shame that simple features like this are missing on a watch that's targeted at this market. making it useless for professional planning without 3rd party sites like training peaks.
I plan on trying out a different watch brand in the new year to see if its any better as its the only brand I've used so far.

So why would not a professional use Training Peaks?

Otherwise, you can also suggest the idea of recurring scheduling to Garmin through their form at Share Ideas | Garmin

  • The Integration with training peaks works well for Cardio based routines but the Strength based routine data doesn't make it across to the garmin, only the title dose. making it being a watch pointless as youll have to use your phone to see the routine.
and training peaks insights are far more advanced than garmins but they only work once they have all the data and entering all this would take a ridiculous amount of time after each workout.

this also being said youll need to pay a subscription to make custom routines in training peaks, an added cost alot of garmin users wont know they are getting into until after buying the watch.

try making a routine with similar elements to mine from the picture above with full workouts that change regularly on the device and let me know how you go, it makes no sense to be so difficult and need so many work arounds to get there.

to bring it back to the problem that this thread is about, you should be able to "schedule a workout to multiple days on the training calendar" as a basic function. but Garmins software is half-baked that a user went and coded a chrome extension to do it.
The half it dose it dose very well (as in zone based running and tracking) but the other half (as in planning and the UI) is hopeless.

I submitted the idea back when I left my first comment but had no reply.
