If there is no "Lap button press" message, the watch will move to the next phase of the workout automatically. The lap-button-press-required seems to be put before workout phases (like cadence intervals etc.) where you may want to decide yourself when you move to the next phase (you are at the beginning of a suitable straight, not near traffic lights, etc.)
Thanks for your answer. I cannot see the button press showing when I start an uphill repeat, so I have this doubt: if I'm jogging downhill and the downhill hasn't finished yet when I hear the beeping sound for a new uphill repeat, could I keep jogging to the end of the downhill? Should I press the 20-min-past button then as I start the repeat?
I cant figure it either, i was doing cadence then walk intervals- must have pressed lap at wrong time so my watch thought my walking was "too slow a cadence" . It seems like the garmin coach seamlessly moves to next timed phase without a button push so i dont get why the direction says to press lap button
