Heat acclimation calculation only uses starting temperature, this doesn’t reflect endurance events of multiple hours where the temperature changes throughout the day/workout.

Would Garmin please use more temperature data points throughout a workout to capture long events when the temperature varies considerably over the workout? Maybe once per hour or 15 minutes for the Heat Acclimation metric? I did an ultra run that started before dawn at 55 degrees and ended in the afternoon at 90 degrees and the last few hours were definitely hot. The Garmin app called the temperature on the map as 55 degrees with zero heat acclimation which I don’t think is really accurate. Same will be true the opposite way in evenings when the temperature drops after sunset. Using multiple temperature data points would make the heat acclimation metric more accurate.

  • True, a weather reading is done only once, at start of an activity, the same as city name. So for longer activities it's meaningless.

Would be nice to have something like a chart with more readings through whole activity. This should come also with all locations list, as to get those weather readings, it would need to check passed cities anyway.

  • Yeah, I want this feature as well. Really annoying on a long bike tour or a long jog where the temperature at the start is low but then higher than 30 degrees Celcius
