Unstable sync between GC ios and GC web

Sometimes GC sync sucks big time!

Had problems with unstable sync between ios and web. Signed out of the ios app in order to align the sign-in on the two platforms - still using identical email addresses.

When signing into the ios app again (still same email) 4 months of training and some lovely hiking data was just gone.

If you have a smilar problem, I hence cannot recommend my methods of signing out of ios app. Make certain you have a backup of training data first.

  • There is no offline data in the app. What you see in the app is what you see in the web. So, there are some issues with multiple accounts here. I haven't yet figured it out how it works when you use the same email address.

    Garmin Connect allows you to use a username instead of email address. At least for people with older accounts. I can use a username or email address and get the same account. That might be a reason to multiple accounts.

    One reason for different accounts with the same email address: There are two Garmin Connects. One global one (https://connect.garmin.com/) and one for mainland China (https://connect.garmin.cn/). If you are in China the app will probably use the Chinese Garmin Connect.
