Good Afternoon Guys!
My "new" to me Garmin 800 seems to be having issues with corrupt FIT files, it's done it twice now out of 6 rides.. Annoying as if not on Strava it doesn't count ;)
Both times its tracked the ride fine, distance/speed/HRM all seem to be recording.. I get half way (ride to my wives horses and help her there) so pause my ride and turn off the Garmin, turn it back on - carry on my ride in the same "ride". Get home, press stop and wait a few seconds, press and hold reset and then wait a few more seconds after this, then turn it off.
Plug it into the computer and its only a 72b file not 20kb or so like I'd expect and can't upload it as its corrupt.
Any ideas what's going on here, am I doing something wrong? I've used a Garmin 500 for years with no issues and doing exactly the same thing so not sure what could be causing it. I've deleted all activities and courses from the previous owner so it's pretty much empty other than some maps on the SD card.
I've attached a picture of the history, the 0.77 mile test ride recorded fine and uploads fine.
