Corrupt .fit file

Hi there,

My .fit file is corrupt. I tried to fix it with garmin.kiesewetter.nl but then it says: ‘this file could not be uploader. The following error occured: The proces cannot access the file … because it is being used by another proces’. Can somebody help me out?

Can you give us some background info on what occurred? The file is basically empty, except for the file header. Was the file inadvertently deleted then recovered? Are there any other fit files on your device from around the same time?

I did a ride. Turned the Garmin off, while not riding, turned it on again, went on riding. Saved it when I came home. Because I turned it off, uploading doesn’t go automatically. So I connected the garmin to the computer, tried to upload the file on Strava, and then this happened.

There is a ‘Device.fit’ from today, a TPT_BACKUP_file_89.bak, a GarminDevice.xml. That’s it.
