fit file corrupt "We don't support the file type you tried to import"

Hi,

Am facing this exact error. I did a long ride over 6 days and when I came back and wanted to sync, it didn't go through. Auto upload didn't work and when I tried to upload the file manually it gave an error that they don't support the file am trying to import.

Would you be kind enough to help fix the attached file and share it back?

This has been the longest and most strenous ride of my life yet and it's so disappointing that am not able to view it.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi Mayank, this will work - 2021-07-24-09-02-52-fixed.zip

Looks like there was a gap in GPS recording on day 5 at 302 km where you see the straight line from 1 timestamp to the next.

Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool

Suggest that after such an event to clear the .fit files within the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on your Edge 520 Plus.

  • Thank you.

Your observation is right, after covering 302 Kms of ride, we had to hang our bikes on the rack and drive down for a certain distance and then once there was better weather we picked up the ride once again and continued on the same one.

For such cases, what would be your advise? Should I clear all the fit files in the activity folder and should that be done prior to saving or continuing this ride?

Would greatly appreciate if you can let me know exactly what I should do.

Once again, many thanks for repairing this file and your valuable advise. I'll upload the file on GC shortly.

  • Should I clear all the fit files in the activity folder and should that be done prior to saving or continuing this ride?

Don't clear out the activities until you have a chance to upload them or save them off of the device. So I wouldn't do that in the middle of the event. Once they're safely on Garmin Connect, then delete the files.

  • Sure. Thanks for the tip. I'll clear them out once they are on Garmin Connect. For today I'll clear out the folder since now all my rides are there on Connect.

Many many thanks for all your help! Now the ride is safely and properly uploaded on GC.

    Really appreciate your support.
