Corrupted Fit File

Hi dmross, could I get some background on this? Activity type, distance? Was it accidentally deleted, then recovered? Anything else unusual about it?

Yes. It was a run from a Garmin training plan. About 35 min. Don't know distance, with 8-10 laps automatically advanced by the watch (no manual laps). I recall seeing the " workout completed" screen.  That's all I remember for certain. I may have forgotten to hit save? I recovered the file with recuva and saved to my laptop. That's where I stopped.

Usually that will corrupt the file and sometimes beyond repair, especially if you've used the watch at all after the incident. Maybe we can do something with this, but no promises.

1. Yes it is a Vivoactive 3. I think that the watch went to sleep after the run. As soon as I realized the run didn't save I turned off my watch but that was about 2 hours later :( it's ok. I'm jus so curious about my intervals! First speed workout in a year! Thank you for looking at my file.

Might be a good time for some maintenance on the watch.

• After verifying that everything has synced, remove the files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on the device’s file system using these directions: Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device 
• Avoid excessive button presses such as pausing during your activity. If you need to pause frequently during your run, consider turning on auto pause
• Regularly check for firmware updates using Garmin Express
• If issues with corrupt files persist, contact Garmin Support
