Can't upload to Connect or Strava - "The upload appears to be malformed and we are unable to process it."

Hello,

After a 7.5h ride I have found out that the .fit file seems to be corrupt and cannot be uploaded to garmin Connect nor Strava. In Strava I get the following error:

"The upload appears to be malformed and we are unable to process it."

I would appreciate if anyone could help me a bit. I have tried a couple tools (fitfiletools.com amongst them) but they all seem to be down or incapable to deal with my file.

A lot of corrupt timestamps with erroneous dates and GPS data. 2 large time gaps where there was no data recorded.

Thanks a lot! I could upload the fixed file to Strava. However, for some reason it does not recognize any segments in the fixed file and it ends before we reached the end of the activity. Could you please advise what tool you used to fix the file? Maybe spending some more time I can try and save some more data.. The ride was somewaht important to me... :s

(May I ask what tools you used to find out that the "data record definition" part was missing?)

Thanks so much! I was already planning another 1000 km return trip to the pyrenees to re-ride that loop again... You know, if it's not in Strava it didn't happen! :p
