It might seem random, but have you done the following?

Avoid excessive button presses such as pausing during your activity
Regularly check for firmware updates usingGarmin Express
If issues with corrupt files persist, contactGarmin Support
One thing that I noticed was that the GPS stopped for a bit and then restarted during the run / pause / resume came up, so maybe that had to do with the corrupt file.
