I am using Garmin Foreruner 35, and my running log file looks corrupted.

When I tried to repair it, it couldn't be uploaded on the below website with above error message.

Is anyone can help me to fix this corrupted file?

Thank you in advance!

  • Hi, sure. You find my answers below. I hope this will help a bit:

    • are you a MAC user
      • (empty BIN on device while connected)--> no I´m not a MAC user
    • was this activity with a long duration or distance compared to previous activities
      • ( long ones use more memory )-->  it was a 4 hour walk
    • was this activty with a pause somewhere during the activity--> yes, I had a couple of pauses, including one pause of about 1 hour
    • was your watch on auto pause--> no auto pause
    • was the watch connected to a phone during the activity--> no
    • what was your procedure stopping the activity
      • did you stop and immediately pressed save
      • or did you stop, paused and then pressed save--> yes, i paused a couple of minutes and then pressed save

Hi, I tried the repair tool but MS Access warned of nasty macros.  Would you mind fixing another one: [solved]

    Thanks, Anthony

  • MS Access warned of nasty macros.

Understandable. I asked the developer about this. This is a false warning and caused by the fact that the tool is a MS Access application. Really no way to avoid the warnings, but it is installable with a bit of work. Been using it for nearly 2 years without any issues. However, in this case you don't even need Fit File Repair Tool. Just run it through FIT File Tools using the section remover without any adjustments. Download the repaired file then upload it to Garmin Connect using the import data page

I've had a few issues with the watch (Venu SQ) lately: activities disappearing or cut short.  Possibly low on memory but I haven't been getting a memory warning for well over a year, so I assumed that the watch was deleting old activities automatically. I'll try checking the memory regularly.

On this occasion the activity didn't upload to Connect automatically so I tried a manual upload and got the "Unexpected end of file" message.
