TLDR: I need to edit the heart rate zones of my workout before I upload it to Garmin Connect. Can this be done and how?
Two days ago I did a run and my heart rate jumped to over 220 for a portion of the workout. This caused my watch (Forerunner 745) to set a new Max Heart Rate. Obviously this affected my heart rate zones. When I went on my run today (11 miles) I noticed about 20 mins in that my heart rate zone was way lower than expected. Instead of being in the green or orange zone, my entire run was in the grey or just inside the blue. The result is that my Load, Training Effect, Recovery are all way off and my guess is that this will also affect my Garmin Coach Training Plan. I turned off the bluetooth on my phone so the workout hasn't been uploaded to Garmin Connect yet.
Can I edit the heart rate zones in the activity before uploading to Garmin Connect? Will that change the Training Effect, Load, and Recovery Time? I found FitFileTools (free) but that doesn't seem to be able to edit zones. I also found Fit File Repair Tool (paid) but I don't want to pay $50 to make a one time change. Any idea if I can modify the file manually? Is there another tool I can use to edit the file before upload? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!
