Imported data from Runkepper is not on my stats, achievements, etc...

Hi everyone.

I tried to import Fitbit and Runkepper data to my new Garmin device (to Garmin Connect).

I followed Garmin instructions on https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=HfJ4xPchdD3cmZ2qtDpOR8 but the files I received from Fitbit were not in CSV format.  I called them and they said that Fitbit is not sharing CSV nor excel files anymore.... there I lost two years of activities, was really disappointing.

Simultaneously, I imported data - on a time I was not using a HR monitor -  from Runkepper to Garmin Connect.  Even when I got the activities with time, distance, etc.... they are not shown in my lifetime achievements, total steps, etc...  Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

  • The only way to get steps into Garmin from 3rd party services is to import the Fitbit CSV, but since Fitbit removed that export it isn't that easy. CSV is in plain text so it should be possible to create such a file manually, but you will need to know the format.

Imported activity data will never be counted for badges and challenges unless you convert the files to FIT files and set a Garmin device as creator, but doing that to more than a handful activities will be too much work.

It might be fun to at least have some races and longer activities added to Garmin Connect. A way to add them is to start an activity on your watch and then end it right away and sync. Then in the app or web you edit the activity with the correct date, time, distance and other data to match your race. That way it will be counted for badges. I've done that for the marathons and long bike races I had done before I started using Garmin Connect.

  • Thanks for the reply
Yeah, the data transfer will be really tricky if I try to import the data to a different file extension.  I think what you proposed seem like a good way to do it.

    Thanks for your help mate!
