Garmin connect web not showing pace on Coach plans anymore.

Garmin connect web not showing pace on Coach plans. Something has recently changed. You used to be able to see the pace you need to run when you clicked on a day in your schedule. Now it just show easy, or goal pace etc.

You can see all sorts of information on Garmin connect, but the pace you have to do the next day in a run  as described by your Garmin 'Coach' has now been taken off. How silly is this. there is no advantage in taking information away . I've been told its part of the design!!!!!!!

  • Ive raised this via the chat and just been told its part of the design.

"Our update is this has been confirmed to be by design. Speed targets were removed from Run workouts and Pace targets were removed from cycling workouts. This is to offer options that best align with the activity type the workout is being built under."

what the hell does that mean?

  • Press them to explain that statement.  How can it possibly be better to not know how fast you should be running?

  • It means that Garmin removed speed target for running, but kept (or replaced it with) pace target and vice versa for cycling since that is what most people use when they do workouts. There are of course people that use speed when running but that is not the common way to do it.

But according to your thread start you don't see pace for running workouts.

  • Even if some runners don't use the pace time targets, many do, and it costs nothing to include those in the Connect web display. I use them as part of my training with both Garmin Coach plans and workouts I've created myself.  Still, I can't believe this was deliberate in a training sense, since it makes having a GPS watch less useful,  We use our smartwatches so we don't have to guess what an "easy pace" or a "challenging pace" is. If it was a deliberate change, it was probably done by some web designer who isn't a runner or Garmin watch user, and the change should be undone.

Workouts can still be made with paces and those pace are visible in the calendar so the info above seems incorrect. I made a test of it just now(I saw you active in the other thread) This seems to still be a coach plan  on web interface issue rather than some weird change.

  • I'm only referring to Coach plans and connect web page as mentioned in the title!

"Garmin connect web not showing pace on Coach plans anymore."

  • Thanks for your caps and your exclamation mark.

(You may note the "in reply to [...]" next to my post).

At this point I'm going to doubt what you have stated and even what you have quoted.

  • This is crazy. In the Garmin Connect App the Pace Targets still appear but in the Web version they are missing. It's really annoying. I have this issue pending with the 'Garmin Engineers' but they have not mentioned that this was done by design but have merely said they have escalated the issue and I need to wait 10 days. I hope I'm not going to get the same sort of rubbish customer service that made me give up on 'FitBit' in disgust.

  • I agree this is crazy - I can only assume it is a mistake and will be reinstated at some stage. Saying it is part of the design is just a "standard nothing" statement to close an enquiry ticket.  There is nothing  positive about this change... v disappointing.
