Creating Routes in OS Maps to use on an Instinct

I'm new here, so apologies if this isn't the right part of the forums for this question. And further apologies if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find anything in a search...

I'm a subscriber to the UK's Ordnance Survey online service which allows me to print maps and create routes. The routes can be exported in GPX files. I've just bought a Garmin Instinct and I'd like to be able to follow hiking and mountain biking routes created in Ordnance Survey online maps by using using the watch. I've successfully uploaded a GPX route into Garmin Connect Web and created a training course, which I can sync to the watch. I'd like to make the best use of the watch's features such as alerting me to upcoming course points, having meaningful waypoint names displayed, and maybe turn-by-turn instructions. Has anyone got this already figured out please? I suspect that it might involve several programs / apps. I generally plot routes on a Windows 10 PC and I've been syncing the watch with an iPad or iPhone. If I need to do a bit of editing of GPX or TCX files that's fine. Thanks in advance.
