Why didn't I get the achievement for 73,5 floors when I actually missed the target of 150 floors? Solved...sort of...

Hi!

New to this forum, so I apologize if this subject has been asked before. Couldn't find any similar question though.

Today I decided to try the "floors upwards" or what to call it in English. The one with 1500 feet. From earlier I have 1000 feet and 334 feet.

I did some miscalculation and walked(actually mix of walk and run) 145 floors up a hill instead of 150 floors(according to Garmin the same as 1500 feet). Since I missed the target, shouldn't I get the 73,5 floors instead, the one I didn't plan to take? I couldn't make 150 floors, but at least I did more than 73,5 floors.

Is the answer that for my watch (F6 Pro Solar) it looked like an attempt for 150 floors, closer than an attempt for 73,5 floors? In that case, it still doesn't make sense. Not fair when I was able to get more than 73,5 floors anyway.

Anyone with a good answer to this?

  • If I understand you correctly, No. You were short of 1500 feet and exceeded 1000 feet, but you already have that badge so got nothing. To get the 1500 feet badge, exceed 1500 feet, to get the 735 feet badge; exceed 735 feet but get less than 1000 feet.

  • Thanx for your answer. So practically it means I have to get closer to 735 feet than to 1500 feet to achieve the 735 badge. To be honest, I think that's unfair, as I have done a good enough performance anyway. After all I have covered the 735 feet...

  • Garmin Connect seems inconsistent. eg I noticed that for cycling climbing and distance badges you have to get each one individually, whereas when I switched on Activity Tracking for the very first time recently (just to see what it does) I got all of the Intensity Minutes badges in one ride.

  • Yeah, inconsistent indeed. It should be the same policy all over. Well, can't do anything about it except complaining to Garmin ;)

Thank you for your answer Slight smile

  • The difference is that the cycling is directly connected to an activity so the activity must meet the requirements for the badges when you save it. Intensity minutes and steps are not connected to an activity. It just checks what you have achieved at any given time and awards you with the corresponding badge.

  • Seems logic in a way. Thank you Slight smile
