exported an activity that was edited (~236km -> 30km) still contains 236km

    You can only export the orignal data. Edits are not reflected in the exported files. You either need to edit the TCX file in a text editor, or you'll have to edit the activity in the app where you are importing it into.

    ... you can also use one of many apps for editing TCX files, or you can export the activity as "Original" (FIT file), and trim it to the 30km with the help of the Section Remover of FIT File Tools. You can then import the trimmed file back to Garmin Connect (after deleting the original), and exporting it again as TCX - that would already reflect the trimming done externally.
