A lot of people have been complaining about the updated Garmin Connect app in terms of the move from showing monthly step totals in the yearly summary to showing it moving weekly totals. Like many other people I found this change very unhelpful. I have been in email exchange with Garmin support and got this reply today.

We can not comment as to why this was changed, this was a decision made by the app development team, I can confirm this feature will not be re instated.

It really makes you feel like a valued customer! I said in my email to them that I was thinking of upgrading my watch but wanted to check why they had made the change and whether they were planning to re-install it, because if not then I would consider moving elsewhere. Clearly they will do everything possible to get people to move away from them. Can anyone recommend an alternative company that has good watches and provides step data in a useful formant?
