Imported running GPX: wrong pace chart. Cycling is OK.

I'm waiting for my first Garmin smartwatch and in the meantime imported some GPX files from my Strava account. Cycling activities look OK but my C25K run/walks has only an averaged pace chart instead of showing the different speeds. How can I fix this?

  • I used Export TCX from strava. Now I tried other ways. Strava Export Original gave me a completely white pace graph but the tooltips have shown different paces. And the plain Export GPX function gave me this. There is data in the white areas but not drawn. Weird.

  • Very weird. Well, runalyze.com also allows you to import a GPX file, so you can test your suspicion that something went wrong with the import. However runalyze also hides (legitimate) very short periods of slowness/stoppage which show up on Garmin Connect Web, so it will still be hard to say whether Garmin Connect messed up the import or whether it's showing more information than other sites. (I mean I know *you* know you didn't stop or go slowly, but I just meant from an objective 3rd party pov.)

  • I tried importing the same GPX into runalyze. Yes, it seems to have filtered out what it thinks were stops. But otherwise too flat, does not correlate well with the HR. So you are right, there may be problems with the GPX, too.

Anyway, my watch arrives next week and hopefully activities recorded with it won't have this problem. I give up on this. Thanks for your help!
