Lost activities

Hi, out of the blue I have lost all activities ever recorded, incl. personal records. Garmin Connect looks like I started with garmin today. Some settings remained, badges also remained, lot of settings gone and needed to be set again. Is it only temporary or have I lost all activities for ever?? I have tried to uninstall app, switch off watches, nothing helped.

  • Your data doesn't disappear from Garmin Connect, if you're on the same Garmin account. It sounds like you've logged in with a different account.  Happens very frequently when installing Connect and signing up for an account rather than using an existing account.

  • Thank you very much for answer. I hope my data are still saved  somewhere in Garmin cloud, but still nothing. Indeed I created new account for my friend around that time, that may be the case, but I ´ m sure I did not use my device to pair it with new account. I have tried to disconnect device from all apps on all phones, tablets etc. And also put may device to factory setting. Nothing helped. Any idea what to do next? Cancel my frienď s account? Thank you very much. 

  • You can try going to Garmin Connect Web and searching for your original self.

    [https://connect.garmin.com/modern/connections/connections]

    That might give you some clues as to your original account name.

  • Just me.. And nothing still. I see my complete badges, friends, equipment. All correct and with full history.  But no activities (of 4years), no sleep, pulse, VO max and other history. I think I am in my account. But only half full :(

    Make sure you do your search using an email address, and any email you might have used in the past. That is the unique account name.

    Maybe your friend inadvertently deleted all your activities? I have activities going back nearly 17 years, all intact. If you can't figure it out, you should contact Garmin Support and they might be able to recover the old activities for you or possibly get you on the correct account.

  • Hi, I have the exact same problem. Don’t think that it is because of a wrong account, as I have only one? The data in tacx seems also to be gone .... hopefully not forever?!?

    1. Hi, yesterday I have contacted Garmin support (US and Canada) and had a chat with some girl from Garmin. The issue is not about logging in with two diferrent accounts. Problem seems to be in privacy settings, it looks like I revoked consent with uploading activities into Garmin - I did not! - so all activities (and sleep, steps, pulse, stress) were somehow deleted. (badges, friends remained). It also looks like I wanted delete my account - I did not!  Now I am waiting for some garmin engineers to look at my case and I hope, please please please, they will be able to upload some backup of my account. 
    • Thank you for this info. I would also agree that I didn‘t revoke any settings nor did I want to delete my account!!! Will also try to contact them. And also hope for a backup!!!

    btw. Just checked my account. Consent is still given. Would be really interesting to know what exactly happened :-o

  • Hi, do you have any reply from Garmin? I am still waiting, nothing new yet :(. I also have (and always had) consent given. 

  • Not yet. I‘m in contact now with Garmin Support in Germany. But no news yet. Had to provide details about my account and if I have only one or also others etc. Explained, that I have only one. Everything worked well until two or three days ago and all of a sudden data seems to be gone. Account still here with no data. Same account, same credentials as ever before :-( ...
