"Untraining" my Edge 530 (or Garmin Connect)

Hello,

From what I've read it seems the newer Garmin products "learn" about your fitness.  When I'm not training for anything my favorite ride type is 50-100 miles and mostly Z2/Z3 (with some Z4).  It isn't uncommon for me to do a ride like this most days for a month or more.  At some point when doing a really similar workout day-after-day all the Garmin/Firstbeat metrics get really skewed and stuff like training load will be low (to the point my training load for a 100 mile ride is lower than a 3 mile walk) and my Edge stops even reporting the ride status (unproductive, productive, etc...).  I understand what I detailed isn't the most productive training style, but it's what I like.

I assume the "device training" takes place on Garmin Connect?  I have a few different generation Garmin products with different available training metrics/features.  Could this be impacting the data in some way?  I have the sharing feature enabled, but that seems limited (I'm sure it works great if you upgrade your devices every year, but I don't).

Is there some sort of debug mode that allows me to see "how difficult" a ride was at a baseline vs "how difficult" it was for me based on the profile tailored to my data?

Can I reset this "learning" process back to square one without creating a new Connect account?

Thanks!

Actually not. Practically all calculations are done in real-time by the device.

Yes, if you use the feature Physio TrueUp, then the devices will influence each other.

Yes, you can perform the master reset (factory reset) of the devices. The data in Garmin Connect remain intact.
