course point not saved

Hi,

I'm importing a TCX file to Garmin connect > I add and save some course points > I save the course > I download it as GPX file > Then I import it back

to Garmin Connect > The imported file does not contain the course points. This means that copy it after download to my Edge device will not enable

a point by point navigation. why are course points do not download with the course.

If I open the same course from Courses in Garmin Connect, I do get the saved course points,

Why download and copy it to the Edge when you can send it directly from Garmin Connect?

1. download it directly to Edge is not always possible. if I have a pc and I want to build a course but I don't

have my Edge with me, so I create a new course, down load it, and send it to my self via Email. Then at home

I download it from the mail to my Edge.

2. I don't see why there should be any difference. Are you saying that downloading it directly to Edge will solve the problem?

If you have the course in Garmin Connect you don't have to download and mail it around. Click send to device and select the Edge. It will be transfered in the next sync when it connects to the app. No need to have the Edge with you.

If you see the course points in Garmin Connect it should be transfered to the device when you click send to device.

Start by just testing to see if it works. I always use Garmin Connect and transfer my courses to my devices that way and never experienced any issues. Downloading files and sending them by mail feels like a really long way extra when you can send them with just three clicks.

it's a miracle!. it actually worked. so if u download a gpx file, then it will not include the course points.

The only way to copy a navigation file including course points is to download it directly via syncing of Garmin Express.

This is a solution that cant work for me as I need to email my GPX file to multiple people (sometimes hundreds) for them to upload it on their devices. Course points are not showing on garmin devices when uploading a GPX that contains course points even with the garmin device 'course points' toggle as on under settings. Surely its not difficult for a GPX file to be downloaded correctly to include POIs. RidewithGPS has managed to achieve this simple task for years.

If they got Garmin devices you don't need to send the GPX. Just send a link to the course. Then they can use Garmin Connect and send the course to their devices.

Agreed this is the only solution available until GPX downloads are enabled.
