wrong activity recorded

Two runs today are recorded on my forerunner 35 as treadmill, but they were outdoor runs.  How do I change this, and where do I change it - On my watch, on Garminconnect.com, or on Garmin.com?  Very confusing. I've tried to change this on Garmin Connect, but can't.  Thanks.

  • What happens when you try to change it on Garmin Connect (the website, not the mobile app)?

Keep in mind that changing it on GC will not change what you see on your watch if you look at history.

You can't just click on the down arrow beside the word "TREADMILL RUNNING" on your activity and select RUNNING (or whatever)?

Here's an example of me attempting to do the opposite (change running to treadmill running). It works for me.

  • You can change the activity type both in [Garmin Connect Web], as well as with the phone app Garmin Connect Mobile (doing it on one side is enough, though, of course). In both cases you enter the activity detail screen and change it there. In case of GCW - exactly as  has shown, and in case of the app, you first select the option Edit in the top-right menu (triple dot symbol), and then you can change the activity type (among others).

However, even if you change the type of the activity to the standard (outdoor) run, it won't help you to get the map of the track, since there was no track recorded if you used an indoor activity type. If the distance (estimated from the number of steps) does not match the reality, you can edit it too.
