Repeatable badges - with count limit 250

All repeatable badges have now a field - badgeLimitCount: 250. And it's showed in some badges' descriptions as Limit 250.

It looks like a test value, because for some badges, like a New Year, it doesn't make any sense. But going into just limiting badges count doesn't look like a good idea. I would rather make all common badges repeatable without limits, but with separate counters: global and monthly. Global would be like collecting all badges, and monthly how active user was during month.

  • i dont think it is a test value, more like randomly chosen number :-)

does it make much sense for say 60 days goal getter , or maybe even for 30 day goal getter - i really doubt there will be much guys that reach that limit?

  • I wonder if it is an anti-hacker limit.

  • Well, still some can generate activities for marathons and ultras, each for 8 points, easily outmatching normal users, but this would be easily spotted, so this doesn't explain this limit as it doesn't prevent that.

If there should be any limits, then better would be to set some with sense and if reached, then still award a badge, but with lower or zero points.

  • I'm glad they are limiting the challenge winner badge. It's too easy to set a fake oponnents and rack up points.

Same for the watch specific badges. You get 4 repeatable points by recoding three strength training activity with a week with your Avenger watch? That's over 200 points per year just doing that!
