Steps not syncing between Forerunner 245 and Vivoactive 4S

The steps on my devices are showing differently. Previously when I’ve synced them, they match but not for the last couple of days. I’ve looked at the setting and all seem fine. Any ideas?

  • Physio TrueUp is on on both devices? Did you sync both devices? Do both of them sync witout errors in the Device Sync Audit (accessible in the Android app menu » Settings)?

  • Physio Trueup is on them both. They sync my runs and cardio activities but it’s just not syncing the steps for some reason. I’ve not had this problem before, it was dong it fine up until a few days ago

  • They do not sync the steps to each other, or to the GC account either? Or is one syncing and the other not? Or sometimes yes, and then again not? Could you elaborate a bit more precisely what exactly is happening?

  • They don’t sync the steps to each other. For example, I’ve worn the Vivo active today which is showing as 12300 steps on the watch and In Garmin Connect but the 245 just shows 210 steps. I ran wearing the Vivo active today and the run is showing in the 245 history but just not the steps.

  • In that case either the FR 245 does not sync, or you have it accidentally associated with another account of Garmin Connect. It happens very frequently. Follow the instructions from the support document Data is Missing from My Garmin Account After Syncing to resolve the issue.

  • I removed the watches and synced them to my Garmin account. It brought all the data over but the same thing is happening in that the steps won’t sync Shrug tone1‍♀️

Probably you use more applications with the duplicate association - Garmin Connect Mobile app, Garmin Connect Web, Garmin Express, Garmin Explore, ... As written in the document, you have to remove the device from all of them, and then adding back again, to resolve the issue. If you don't do it, the next time you connect with the app using the wrong account, it will mess up the association again.
