My garmin isn’t measuring my distances properly. It’s only measuring .58 of a mild when I do 3 miles or 5 miles?

My watch vivo 3 isn’t measuring my steps or distances correctly. If I walk 5 miles it’s only measuring 0.58 miles or 1.32 miles? Highly annoying as it’s not performing basic functions

What is vivo 3? Vivoactive 3, Vivomove 3, Vivofit 3, Vivosport 3, or Vivosmart 3? Some of them have the GPS hardware built in, and the remaining ones can use the GPS of the phone (so called Connected GPS), so just use the GPS option for measuring the distance accurately. Or calibrate the "Custom Stride Length" feature in User Settings, to make the calcualtion by steps more accurate. Do not expect it working correctly if you do not set it up accordingly, or do not use it appropriately.

how do I make these changes?

  • Since you still did not tell what model exactly you are using, I cannot look it up for you. You best open the user manual for your watch, and look up the terms like "stride" or "gps" there yourself.

You must mean the vivomove 3S.
