Marathon Badge Given, then taken....

Hello, When I first got my Garmin I transferred over my data from the mapmyrun app and tomtom. One of these runs was a marathon I completed in 2017. When I did this at first, it gave me credit for the marathon with the badge. Inexplicably the badge has been removed. Something similar happened with my 10k and half marathon badges as well. I lost the half marathon badge even though I compelted a half marathon with my garmin watch. I was able to fix the half marathon, and just ran another 10k to get that badge, but the marathon badge remains ungranted. Here is the workout link. connect.garmin.com/.../6184047157

If anyone can help resolve this issue it would be appreciated. I completed the Marathon on October 1, 2017.

  • When I did this at first, it gave me credit for the marathon with the badge.

I do not quite believe that, because the badge was introduced in April 2018 only, and it did not apply to older activities. In order to get a badge for a Marathon Activity older than the badge, you need to open the activity, make a minor change (title, notes, ...) and save it.

However, looking at your Marathon run, only 42.16 km was recorded, and that's not the full Marathon. The run must be longer than 42.195 km. If it was an official Marathon run or you are sure it was longer than recorded, you can edit the distance, though.

  • I ran the race in 2017 and recorded it with mapmyrun. My data from mapmyrun was transferred over to my garmin account when I got a watch from them this past December. The run was an official marathon completed on the day in question.

  • Well, if the run was not recorded with a Garmin device, then it does not apply for badges.

Read the condtions for badges in the document https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=6pECo6UIFn7ergw8kNmfu9

    • Activity must be recorded using a Garmin or Tacx device.
