how do I get my activity back if I delete it?

Hi,

I accidentally deleted a ride on my Garmin Edge 1040 a few days ago (May 12th).  It was raining and I probably discarded it by mistake instead of saving it at the end of the ride, after having stopped it. It should be 114 km long.

I used Disk Drill on PC to recover it and it indeed retrieved a fit file named according to the correct date and time in the activities folder (2023-05-12-11-26-24.fit) and with a modification date corresponding to the end of my ride. The size of the recovered fit file seems consistent with other similar activities, but it cannot be imported in Garmin Connect...

Could you please take a look and see if it's repairable ? I tried to repair it with FitFileTools, but without success.

Anyway, if I understand your message correctly, you were not able to retrieve the full ride, right ? (58 km instead of 114 km).

Do you think there is a chance to recover it or is it lost forever ?

I indeed turned the device off after deleting it by mistake and I did not use it again before attempting to recover the file.

The only reason why I waited 2-3 days to recover it is because I was not at home and had no access to my computer between Friday evening (end of my ride) and Sunday evening. Then, my recovery attempts failed on Sunday evening until I tried with Disk Drill this morning...

I really wanted to retrieve this ride as it was a special event for me, but I will have to live without it :-(

I can't fix this file, can you help me ? 

I accidentally deleted my activity from my Garmin 530 and then I used Recuva to recover it. 
Now I tried to upload it on Garmin Connect or Strava but it is impossible bc the files seems "corrumpted". I tried to use Fit Files Tools but it doesn't work. 
Tell me if u have other question
