Find out who are, or contact the admins in a group.

I'm in a group that was created to assist people in getting badges, especially ones that require group membership and group challenges (zombie badge for example). But no new challenges for the year have been set up so I'm hoping to reach out to the admins and give them a little prod. A few people have tried posting public messages to the group, but that went nowhere.

Any suggestions for how/where to reach out? Or is the group effectively just dead in the water?

  • Well, you can find the owner of the group, but you need to use a bit of hacking:

Firs of all you have to find out the ID of the group owner. It is in the field ownerId on the page

    connect.garmin.com/modern/proxy/group-service/group/XXXXXXXX

(you have to replace the XXXXXXXX with the ID of your group, as seen on the Group page in Garmin Connect Web, on the address line. Once you noted the numeric ownerId, you call the following URL (again replacing again the XXXXXXXXX with the group id)

    connect.garmin.com/modern/proxy/group-service/group/XXXXXXXX/members

And in the JSON code, you then search the record for the ownerId you noted. It is done easier in the TreeViewer of the JSON Viewer Tools, though you can do it with the JSON data in the plain text too. The record then contains the name and the profile URL of the owner.
