No GPS data for my run

Hi,

I ran yesterday with my Garmin 735XT but it did not record any GPS data when it uploaded to Garmin and Strava. I have checked the software is up to date and I have tried again but no luck. I'm not sure if it is locating GPS correctly. Here is the GPX file from Garmin connect if that helps. Many thanks

  • How come it was able to tell me distance, pace etc?

    Probably from the accelerometer.

Make sure you're using an activity profile that includes GPS data. Activity Settings > GPS status = On. The Running profile should be GPS On, but something might have changed. Activities like Indoor running, default to GPS off.

Side note - this fit file potentially could be repaired if you have an identical run that included a map, I can apply the GPX file to this fit file, so you'll have a map.

The watch estimates your pace from the step count multiplied by the average stride length, when no GPS data is available. Hence, indeed from the accelerometer, as wrote.
