No Cycling Dynamics in Connect Web with Vector 3 dual

hi, i just started using the vector 3 dual sided, paired to a fenix 5 via ANT+

i don't see where cycling dynamics is in the Connect Web

can someone give me a clue?

thanks!

  • I do not have the Vectors, so cannot help directly with my experience, but the document What are Cycling Dynamics? tells the following, so if you did not see it, it may be worth of trying:

NOTE: Vector 3 Owners - Cycling Dynamics will only transmit via ANT+ and will not transmit via BLE. If you are using a product listed below and you are not seeing Cycling Dynamics, you may need to remove and repair the sensor, ensuring you connect via the ANT+ channel. If the BLE channel is picked up first you can select "Show More" to get the ANT+ channel to appear.

Select your device below and follow the steps.

fenix 5 and 5 Plus Series

    1. Hold  /UP to access the Menu
    2. Select Settings > Sensors and Accessories
    3. Selectthe paired Vector
    4. Select Remove > Yes
    5. Select Add New from Sensors and Accessories to pair the Vector 3 again
  • thanks for the reply. i removed the vector 3 pedals, then added them back. went through the calibration and setting the crank arm length. but still no cycling dynamics.

the drive-side pedal shows red and green light on the spindle, but i just found out that the NDS pedal spindle does not have any lights at all

i put in new batteries into both pedals

edit: i found that the NDS pedal doesn't have light indicators. and i'm getting 3 green flashes which means the DS pedal is searching for the NDS pedal.

edit #2: this is getting weirder. i took off the DS pedal and disconnected the batteries. pedaled 1-footed with the NDS pedal, and it was detected by the Fenix 5 watch.

edit #3: pedaling 1 footed on NDS produces no power reading on the fenix 5

edit #4: tried to download Garmin Connect App to trouble shoot the pedals, but there is no Garmin Connect App that is compatible with my Android phone. i downloaded the Vector Updater for Mac, but the updater thinks that the ANT+ unit is being used by Garmin Express on my computer. Which it isn't.

tried pairing directly through Garmin Express, but its not detecting the pedals.

this is really starting to piss me off

edit #5: found out that Vector Updater isn't compatible with V-3. only Garmin Connect... which isn't available for my Android. SWERIOUSLY getting pissed off now

edit #6: no Garmin Connect for iPad... i could really get colorful with my descriptors for garmin right now

  • Sorry, cannot really help, and am afraid that here on the Garmin Connect Web forum there may not be that many Vector owners able to advise. You have a much better chance to get a knowledgeable answer on the Vector 3 forum

I just wonder what version of Android you have, that it is not compatible with the GC Mobile app. Except of Android Go edition, and some extremely old versions, there should not be any problem. If you cannot install it from Google Play store, you can try installing the latest (or even an older) version from an unofficial APK archive such as the apkssl.com or apkmirror.com
