Watch temp vs GPS temp during a run?

Well i just upgraded to a FR 945, and after my run it says +10°C or so in the activity stats. So apparently Garmin Connect now use watch temp for the run. It was about -3°C outside.

But why, the sensor is mostly for the altimeter/barometer right?

Is there any way of changing this? Because temperature on the run will not be close accurate now then.

It is has been like that as long as I can remember. The temperature in the activity stats is the watch temperature which isn't anything you can really use to anything. Maybe to see the water temperature while swimming. To see the outside temperature you look in the corner of the map.

Yes ok, I kind of though so.

but I hope Garmin doesn’t use the watch’s temp data for “coldest runs-badge” or acclimatization and so on. Then it’s just wrong.

Don't worry. Garmin use the temperature visible in the map for the Toasty and Frosty badges and heat acclimatization.
