Summary courses? cant find anywhere?

I have some courses added in connect, i haven't started a course on the watch yet (fr245m) but i have them imported to the watch.
I have added then to the run afterwards though. (Or added the run to a course)

But i cant se anywhere any summary on a course?

I want to sort on a course and se all the runs on a course with times and puls and so on.

Why cant i fint that anywhere on IOS app or webbapp?

It has to be possible right?

  • It has to be possible right?

Unfortunately it is not. Courses are used exclusively for the navigation. The closest to it, is searching / filtering the activities by the distance in Garmin Connect Web. Another possibility is filtering by the Activity title - using the automatically generated loaction name in the title. That should be always the same. Another possibility is adding your own tag into the title of each Activity using a course, and using the tag in the search field.

If you want to see the ranking on certain track, then instead of Courses, look rather at the feature Segments - that's the one that was designed for that purpose. It has indeed its Summary and Leaderboard.

  • Ah, ok, so i should make segments instead then and it will work as "routes" ill look in to that.
    Big thanks trux.
I hope i get it to work!

  • Well ive looked on the "segments" ands it not really a standard route that i can use as i see it.

I dont get how it works either.
If i take one of my normal runs, do a segment of it. Will it recognize as that exactly run automatic next time then?
I have to have them public as well, not to keen about that.

I am afraid I do not understand what you mean.

Yes, even the past ones, if you tell it so. On the other hand, the matching of an Activity to the Segment is rather sensitive, and if the track contains some GPS errors, or deviations from the Segment track (especially around the starting point), then it can happen the Activity won't be matched to the Segment.

Only if you want to be ranked together with others. Your own ranking is visible to you, for private activities as well.

i meant its not quite the same at would think a route would work, or as i was used to.

Ok, so i will give it a go again and try it out.
If its to sensitive, it will not work, i mean, 15km in terrain and garmin probably will find som poor gps.
    so hope it works.

In my old "system" i could name a run a specific run-route before or after, and it will be that route even if there were some mistakes och missin 100m or so. Even if i ran the opposite direction and so on.

Ill keep looking in to "segments"

    Thanx Trux.

As I wrote in my first post - just use either the Advanced search function on the Activities page, filtering the activities by the distance of the course (with some tolerance). Unless all your courses have the same distance, it should work fine to get the overview of all activities on that Course.

And if that cannot work for you, because there are too many false matches, then tag the titles with some code or with the name of the course, or filter the activities by the location name. You can also combine both methods (location + distance).

  • Yes I'll try get a hang of it, thanks for the explanations trux
