So I am gonna take some blame with messing this up but I am really surprised how easily it is to lose an account and not recover it. I swap between two phones fairly often, Pixel/Iphone. Apparently when I got the new Iphone I never set up Garmin on it and have only been updating the app through the Pixel.
Yesterday I go to the Iphone garmin app and I have to set it up. I have two emails. I mistakenly used the wrong email. Garmin being garmin doesnt say this email doesnt have an account it just creates one on the spot masking as if its always existed. Heres when I messed up everything. For some dumb reason I change the email address of this new account to my other email. Idk why I did this, it was stupid in hindsight, but I did it. So now this new account is associated with my original Garmin accounts email hence blocking all access to years of data and all my connections. My old account still shows as a connection with my friends and wife. I just cant get into it anymore.
Am I completely screwed here? Any chance of recovery? I'm kind of shocked that all you have to do is change your email to someone else's and now you can no longer access that data anymore. Like if I know your email. I can change my garmin account to your email and now you lose access to all your data. You dont even get asked to verify anything. I can do this on my own
