Weekly Steps Challenge

In the weekly steps challenge, i had over 60,000 steps and 2 days remaining and all my steps have disappeared. Where have my steps disappeared to?

  • Mine reset to zero on Jan 1 for no reason

  • Steps in the weekly step challenge at zero for me and all 9 other participants.

  • I had the same thing happen to my weekly steps challenge.  However, I went back and looked and I noticed that more people are going to zero over time.

This is the behavior I'd expect if Garmin was going to rebuild the steps totals.  First wipe everyone's existing steps, and then rebuild the total steps from the other records while simultaneously updating the steps for new steps.

So there's hope for the future.

Same here!  Half my challenge group lost their miles while the other half kept theirs.  VERY FRUSTRATING!

  • Ditto. I'm in a 200k group. Two have kept their steps (they last sync'd Monday and yesterday) and the other eight of us have gone to zero. I had over 150k+ and the guy ahead of me had an impressive 170k+. All gone and nothing registering today.

On 30k and not added, would have been over 200k now so annoying

    1. My daily steps aren't registering in my daily challenge. I have done over 30 thousand steps so far this week. In Garmin connect it says I have done zero.

The same thing happened last year when we started the new year.  My step count then went up to 90,000 in the challenge after 1 day because that’s how many steps I had in the first week of 2019.  This time I have 0 as Garmin didn’t fix the problem until after the first week last year so the correction left me with 0 in the first week of 2020.  I assume we’ll have to wait for Garmin to fix  their software again.  There were so many complaints last year I would have thought Garmin would have been on top of this.
