Repairing corrupt .fit file

Hi,

I did a run this morning for a virtual race but when I got back I found that the .fit file my watch has recorded is corrupted. I've tried uploading it to http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ but that says that the file is in use by another process. I use Linux so can't install MS Access in order to use the Fit File Repair Tool. Does anyone know of any other tools? Here is the file [solved]

Unzip the file then import into Garmin Connect using the import data page. Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool.

There are lots of other tools. This FIt file is repairable…

Try a manual upload to Garmin Connect - How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file being corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can look to see if it is repairable.

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Hi Seilogramp, would you please help to fix my .fit file? it seems it is corrupted. Have tried the fit file tools, but it resulted only 0.5 km while my ride was around 12km.2022-08-20-07-01-08.rar

Thanks! I looked that Fit File Repair Tool, but only available for Windows. Hope there will be mac version in the future.

Not likely. It requires Microsoft Access database software.

had a look at your fit file

ride data ends at km 11
file contains route data and data from another ride

tip: when the ACTIVITIES folder contains many files, time to backup-clean the ACTIVITIES folder

Hi, I ride for maybe 14-15km (not 12km like I mentioned before), when I stopped at the finish point, I accidentally pushed discard, not save ride. But anyway, if the data said that so, it's ok then. Thank you very much for your help Former Member and seilogramp ! much appreciate it!
