Calories counting error

Good morning,

I have had a Forerunner 45 for a week and I have noticed that it is not  very accurate in counting calories. Usually it underestimates them. This morning I had a km30 run in 2h and 33 m at a pace of about 5m/Km and an average  heart rate of 166 BPM. The calories consumption was 289.

Thanks for any advice.

  • I saw two similar posts this week, though with different watch model (if I remember well). First of all verify what Activity Class is set up in your User Settings - an undefined value or zero could perhaps cause the unexpected calculation. Another possibility is the failure of the HRM, especially the acquiring of the HR Variability, so check the right fit of your watch, and that it reports the correct HR, and also that it detects the Stress levels correctly. If you find nothing suspicious, contact the Customer Support, and have them investigating it.
